Pressboard is produced from pure unbleached cellulose taken from long-fibred coniferous wood. Due to the high chemical purity, mechanical strength and optimum oil impregnability, pressboard is primarily used in oil-filled power transformers and distribution transformers, and is suited as an insulation material for electric machines and capacitors.
