Details

The new generation vapor insulation AirGuard® SD5 is used to reduce convective heat loss and minimize the risk of condensation in thermal insulation of timber frame houses. AirGuard® SD5 simultaneously provides the necessary level of vapor insulation and vapor permeability. It is used as a breathable vapor insulation for walls and roofs. Especially recommended for timber frame houses or wooden structures. The material is covered with markings on the inside of the room, creating overlaps of 10-15 cm. Overlaps are sealed with Tyvek tape or Tyvek Butil Tape.

The new generation vapor insulation AirGuard® SD5 is used to reduce convective heat loss and minimize the risk of condensation in thermal insulation of timber frame houses. • Limits (controls) vapor permeability• Provides airtightness and moisture protection• Complies with European standards for vapor insulation materials (EN 13984)• Excellent mechanical strength• Lightweight and easy installation• Reduces convective heat loss• Minimizes the risk of condensation in thermal insulationAirGuard® SD5 simultaneously provides the necessary level of vapor insulation and vapor permeability. Controlled vapor permeability (vapor permeability coefficient Sd - 5-10 meters) is provided by a highly technological functional layer applied to a durable reinforcing material. The use of AirGuard® SD5 in combination with fiber insulation and Tyvek® wind insulation helps reduce heat loss and achieve a temperature-moisture balance in the rooms similar to the indicators of wooden structures. A comfortable and healthy microclimate in the rooms is ensured by a small amount of vapor movement through the vapor insulation film, which does not accumulate in the thermal insulation but easily passes through the wind insulation. As a result, normal functioning of the building is ensured without ice formation in the thermal insulation material in winter and reduced moisture accumulation in the building structures in summer. The use of traditional polyethylene vapor insulation materials, which practically completely trap vapor inside the building, can disrupt the natural air-moisture movement and contribute to the deterioration of building structure elements and the formation of mold.Advantages of AirGuard® SD5:

  • prevents the "greenhouse" effect that occurs in attics built with traditional polyethylene vapor insulation;
  • maintains a comfortable and healthy microclimate in the rooms;
  • allows additional drying of building structures;
  • durable, long-lasting and easy to install material;
  • produced using unique DuPont technology;
  • environmentally friendly and safe material for health.
