Details

WINDOWS TAPE INSIDE - WTI MINI is an air and vapor impermeable membrane. It is a laminated polyethylene film with non-woven polyester material on both sides. Application: used for creating air and vapor tight connections and seals for windows and doors in the interior zone, due to its high vapor resistance, the interior tape provides perfect protection against moisture diffusion and damage caused by condensation.

Description:

  • Elastic air and vapor impermeable membrane, made of polyethylene, laminated on both sides
  • Each side has an 18 mm and 20 mm wide adhesive layer - for mounting to the front or side edges of the window profile

Features:

  • High elasticity
  • Easy installation, easily bends and fits into corners
  • Very high density, high air, water and vapor resistance
  • It is possible to completely separate two layers of plaster
  • In cases where the surfaces are particularly uneven, use adhesives with high adhesion to ensure the tape sticks and seals properly

Installation:

Requirements for work surfaces: dry, clean, free of dust, degreased. Treat particularly porous surfaces with primer

Attaching to the frame

  • Apply a layer of adhesive tape on the inside along the side edges or front edges of the window frame, leaving about 2x5 cm of excess material in the corners for later folding and sticking to the sill (calculate approximately +40 cm for each side)
  • If there will be plastering or finishing with plasterboard, the tape should be readable from the inside. If the reveals will be finished, for example, with plasterboard, the sides do not matter
  • After injecting foam, stick the tape with a butyl layer to the sill. Use the appropriate adhesive if necessary
  • At the bottom, the tape is glued to the window sill profile

Tips: Create equal distances horizontally and vertically from the window frame to the reveal. This will simplify sealing the corners and eliminate the need for tapes of different widths

    Installing the window

    • Mechanically secure the window in the reveal using screws or anchors
    • Moisten the gap between the window profile and the reveal with water using a sprayer, only above +5°C
    • Inject installation foam

    Attaching to the reveal

    • Cut off excess foam if necessary, so that it is level with the window profile (never push it back)
    • Apply a layer of butyl adhesive to the reveal, covering the installation foam. Use a roller to press the adhesive/butyl during work
    • Also apply tape to the anchors and their attachment points in the reveal
    • If necessary, use suitable adhesives for the specific weather conditions and the existing work surface (roughness, surface and air moisture and temperature, porosity)
    1. For dry surfaces and above +5°C, use acrylic-based adhesives, such as SOUDAFOIL 330D
    2. For wet surfaces and at low temperatures, even at 0°C (if there is no frost or ice on the surface), use MS Polymer®-based adhesives, such as SOUDAFOIL 360H, SOUDASEAL, FIX ALL, or adhesives based on synthetic rubber, such as BONDSEAL 2080

Make sure the interior tape fits perfectly against the reveal and the window profile along the entire perimeter, thus ensuring complete sealing
