Details

Dry mineral mixture designed for bonding insulation boards made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) or mineral wool (MW) in Capatect STANDARD A and B insulation systems. Adhesive designed for bonding mineral wool and expanded polystyrene insulation boards in Capatect STANDARD A and B insulation systems.

Features

- Applicable for CT STANDARD A (mineral wool) and CT STANDARD B (EPS) insulation systems; - Recommended for base coat insulation systems; - Environmentally friendly; - Easy to use

Technical data

Open time - not less than 120 minSetting time - not less than 10 minMaterial adhesion to concrete base - not less than: - in dry conditions 0.5 MPa - after 50 freeze/thaw cycles 0.5 MPa Compressive strength - not less than 5 MPaThermal conductivity - not less than 0.35 W/(m·K)

Material preparation

Carefully pour Capatect Dämmkleber 175 (25kg) into a container with 5.0-6.0 liters of clean water at room temperature, mix thoroughly with a slow-speed mixer until a homogeneous mass is formed, let it rest for 10 minutes and mix again. If necessary, adjust the consistency after the resting time by adding a small amount of water and mixing. The working time is approximately 2 hours, depending on the weather conditions. Do not mix hardened material with water and do not reuse.

Application method

Apply the prepared adhesive using the "strip-dot" method (approximately a 5 cm wide strip around the perimeter and 3 hand-sized dots in the center of the board). It is recommended to use stainless steel tools. The amount and thickness of the adhesive layer should be chosen based on the unevenness of the substrate and the properties of the insulation boards, so that the contact area with the adhesive is ≥ 40% of the surface. The thickness of the adhesive layer should not exceed 10mm after pressing the insulation boards. Bond the insulation boards tightly to each other, starting from the bottom of the wall and pressing them firmly. Make sure no hollow joints are formed between the insulation boards. Do not apply adhesive in the joints between the boards. Fill the joints larger than 3 mm with the same insulation material. Check the flatness and verticality of the boards with a level. Additional anchoring with dowels can be done 1-3 days after the boards are glued, depending on the ambient temperature and relative humidity.

Consumption

Approximate consumption: 4.0 - 5.0 (kg/m2)Precise consumption is determined by applying a test coating in the specific work area.

Application conditions

During application and drying phase, the ambient and substrate temperature should not be lower than +5°C and exceed +30°C. Do not apply in direct sunlight, wind, fog, or high humidity conditions. Ensure that the above-mentioned requirements are met for at least 48 hours from the time of application.

Drying/drying time

The adhesive is fully dried and loadable after 2-3 days. If insulation is to be reinforced with dowels, they should be installed only after the adhesive layer has sufficiently hardened, at a temperature of +20°C and 65% relative humidity, which is approximately 1-3 days. The drying process of Capatect Dämmkleber 175 occurs through hydration and evaporation of the added water. In cool weather and high humidity, the drying process takes longer. To protect the surface from precipitation during drying, cover it with tarpaulin or mesh.
