Philips Lumea Prestige effectively, easily, and safely works on different hair and skin types. The device works on naturally dark blond, brown, and black hair and skin tones ranging from very fair to dark brown. Like other IPL procedures, Philips Lumea cannot be used for treating white/gray, light blonde, or red hair, and the device is not suitable for very dark skin. This is because a significant contrast is required between the hair color pigment and the skin tone pigment.

The built-in skin tone sensor determines the condition of the treated skin at the beginning of each procedure and sometimes during the procedure as well. If it detects a skin tone that is too dark for the use of this product, it will automatically stop the emission of pulses.
