Sakret BK Adhesive Compound (Adhesive) for Thermal Insulation Boards

Sakret BK Adhesive for Thermal Insulation Boards is an adhesive for bonding thermal insulation boards, stone wool, and foam polystyrene insulation boards. It is a cement-based adhesive suitable for both exterior and interior applications. With additives that improve adhesion and flexibility, it is water vapor permeable, water and frost resistant. The adhesive is gray in color and can be used for manual or mechanical application.

Surface preparation:

• The substrate must be dry and firm, with all cracks and voids filled;
• Clean the substrate from less durable and/or detachable layers (e.g. dirt, dust, oils, paint residues, etc.);
• Scrape particularly dense and/or smooth surfaces;
• Prime highly water-absorbent surfaces with SAKRET BG primer or diluted SAKRET UG primer, in a ratio of 1:3.

Application:

• Mix SAKRET BK in a clean container with cold water until a homogeneous mass without lumps is formed;
• It is recommended to use a mixer with 600 revolutions per minute;
• After the maturing time, approximately 3 minutes, mix again.
• Do not dilute the material that has started to harden with water!
• If the substrate is smooth, apply SAKRET BK with a notched trowel (tooth size 20mm) on the entire surface of the insulation board and bond it to the substrate.
• If the substrate is uneven, apply SAKRET BK on the edges of the insulation boards in a thick layer (approximately 5 cm wide and 2 cm high) and apply 6 dots of material on the surface of the boards and bond them to the substrate.
• If the insulation board is made of mineral wool, first rub SAKRET BK into the surface of the board.
• To reinforce and plaster the bonded boards, it is recommended to use the reinforcing mortar SAKRET BAK (gray) or SAKRET KAM (white).

Note: to achieve the best thermal insulation results, it is recommended to use materials certified in the ETICS SAKRET EPS system (with foam polystyrene boards) or the ETICS SAKRET MW system (with mineral wool).

Additional instructions:

• Protect SAKRET BK during the hardening phase from sunlight, drafts, frost, and excessively high temperatures (> +25°C);
• Technical data applies to a temperature of +23±2°C and a relative air humidity of 50±5%. Lower temperatures increase, higher temperatures decrease the given values;
• Contains cement, reacts alkaline with moisture!
• Contains ≤ 0.0002% soluble hexavalent chromium Cr (VI) ions.
