Silicate blocks are used for various purposes in the construction of interior and exterior walls, both load-bearing and non-load-bearing. Thanks to their excellent sound insulation properties, they are used for the construction of soundproof partition walls. When using silicate walls, heavy objects and structures can be easily attached using standard nylon plugs and screws. Silroc silicate is a fire-resistant material, making it ideal for buildings with increased fire safety requirements. Due to their high compressive strength (15MPa), silroc blocks are suitable for the construction of load-bearing walls in multi-storey buildings. Buildings constructed with silroc silicate have excellent thermal inertia, which ensures a comfortable and stable microclimate indoors. Additional insulation is required for energy-efficient buildings constructed with silroc blocks. Silicate products are made from lime and quartz sand, which gain their strength through the autoclave process under high-pressure steam. Silroc silicate blocks comply with the I category of construction blocks, which meet the requirements of the harmonized standard EVS-EN 771-2:2011+A1:2015. Silroc silicate blocks can be laid on a layer of adhesive plaster (approximately 2.5 mm) or with regular mortar (joint thickness approximately 12 mm). Bauroc gas concrete adhesive (strength class M10) is suitable for plastering. The strength class of the adhesive used for block bonding should be chosen according to the project requirements. When constructing load-bearing walls of multi-storey buildings, a higher strength class of block adhesive should be used if necessary. To ensure energy-efficient and fire-resistant exterior walls, vertical joints should be filled with adhesive or mortar. The high precision and smooth surface of the products facilitate finishing work. Due to the high precision of the blocks and the masonry, their surface does not need to be leveled, which saves on finishing material consumption.
