Snow barriers should be installed as close to the eaves as possible to transfer the snow load to the building's supporting structures. Ruukki UniSeam snow barriers are reinforced with UniSeam fasteners. First, insert the fasteners into the openings created in the support (Figure 6). If the roof covering is Ruukki Classic or another vertical seam covering with a "click" connection mechanism, the snow barrier support on the upper sheet side should be attached to the full side of the seam (Figure 2), while for standing seam sheets, the support should be attached to the folded side of the seam (Figure 3). The tightening torque of the fastener screw is 35 N/m. When tightening the fastener with this force, it will deform slightly, ensuring a reliable long-term connection (Figure 4). Insert the snow barrier pipes into the openings of the supports and secure them with self-drilling screws next to the end supports (Figure 6) to prevent them from slipping. The maximum distance between the closest supports is 1200 mm (Figure 1). The snow barrier pipes can protrude from the end supports by no more than 200 mm (Figure 1).

MAINTENANCE
Ruukki products are safe and durable. To ensure the reliable use and safety of the products, the owner must perform annual inspection and maintenance and ensure that the specified snow load values are not exceeded.

Annual maintenance checklist for safety elements:

• Check the tightness of the connection points and attached parts. Check auxiliary parts (fastening elements).
• Ensure that excess snow is cleared, thus preventing excessive load on the structure and fastening points (if necessary, snow should be cleared multiple times in winter).
• Check the color and zinc coating of the products; if necessary, rectify any defects.
• Replace or repair damaged parts or parts with defects as soon as possible.

USAGE
MAXIMUM ROOF SLOPE LENGTH
Below is the indicative maximum roof slope length (m) above the snow barrier on a flat surface. The indicated maximum length can be increased by 1.3-1.5 times for rough surfaces, such as bitumen roofs. The specified snow load values are the actual snow-induced load on the roof.
