Tikkurila Basement Paint Silicate Color Completely Matt 10l (710005293)

Inorganic silicate paint with excellent water vapour resistance. Waterborne.

Inside walls and ceilings of cellars, garages and cold stores.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Concrete, lime, lime cement, cement plaster, sandlime brick and brick surfaces as well as
mineral board surfaces indoors.

• Colour Shades: Off white (TIKV)
• Gloss: Full matt. 6/RT -classification
• Coverage: approx. 3-5 m²/l on one coat. Coverage is affected by the roughness and porosity of the surface as well as the painting method and conditions.
• Application method: Paintbrush or roller.
• Drying time: Recoatable after 12 hours.
• Density: (kg/l) around 1,4 kg/l
• Water vapour resistance (EN ISO 7783): sd,H2O < 0,14 m.
• VOC: (cat A/a) 30g/l(2010). Kellarimaali VOC amount is max. 30 g/l.

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be clean, dry and solid and the temperature of the air and surface at least +5°C and the relative humidity of the air below 80%. To avoid color differences, do not paint in strong sunlight or in the rain.

Surface preparation

Unpainted surfaces: New concrete, screed and plastered surface must be sufficiently dried and hardened before finishing treatment. Clean unpainted surfaces from dirt, dust and other impurities.

Previously painted surfaces: Clean surfaces from dirt, dust and other impurities. If necessary, clean with Tikkurila Seinäpesu cleaning agent according to instructions. Remove flaking and poorly attached or powdery paint layers. Sand well adhering paint coats until matt.

Priming

Apply one priming coat of Kellarimaali paint. The product can be thinned with water up to 10%, if necessary. After the primer has set for at least 12 hours, finishing coat will be applied.

Note

Cover surfaces that will not be treated, such as windows, natural stone or clinker-tiled surfaces and metal surfaces. Remove any paint spatter immediately with water.

The variable porous structure of the surface to be painted and moisture and temperature variations during paint application and drying may cause diversity of color.

Mechanical strain may cause visible marks on the painted surface. This is a typical product feature of matt paints; however, it does not affect the technical functionality of the product.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water or Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner).

Maintenance instructions

If necessary, clean the surfaces with a dry brush, mop or dust cloth after a month of the surface treatment at the earliest.
