Tikkurila Magnetic Magnetic Paint for Walls Matt 0.5l (00158000005)

Magnetic is a waterborne special paint. Due to the magnetic properties of the paint, magnets will
stick to surfaces coated with Magnetic. Strong magnets attach best to the surface.

Wallsurfaces on dry interior premises.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Suitable for concrete, filler, plasterboard and chipboard surfaces. If you would like the surface to be a different color than gray, Magnetic can be finished with one or two coats of Tikkurila’s water-borne interior finishing paint for walls. Thick topcoat layers reduce the adhesion of magnets.

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature at least +10 °C and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.

Not to be thinned.

Surface preparation

Unpainted surfaces:
Clean the surface of dust, dirt and loose material. Fill holes and cracks with a suitable Presto filler if necessary. Prime unpainted surfaces with, e.g. Varma Primer.

Previously painted surfaces:
Wash the surface with diluted Maalipesu detergent and rinse carefully with water. Sand glossy surfaces with sand paper to assure the best possible adhesion. Remove the sanding dust.

Painting

To achieve an even consistency, stir Magnetic well before use (this can take several minutes) and now and then during the use. Apply three coats using plenty of Magnetic paint and a short-napped roller or brush. Try to achieve the smoothest surface possible. Magnets stick best to a smooth substrate.
You can also apply Magnetic with a roller and smooth it immediately with a steel trowel to achieve an even smoother surface. Let the painted surface dry for approximately 24 hours between coats. Use roughly one liter of paint for approximately 1.5 m² of surface in three coats. This amount will guarantee the magnetic effect. If necessary, the surface can be finished after 24 hours with Tikkurila's water-borne interior finish.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water. Remove excess paint/ lacquer from tools and clean with water.

Maintenance instructions

If needed, approx. one month after surface treatment at the earliest. The surfaces should preferably be dry-cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or dusting cloth. Using a damp cleaning cloth can
leave marks on the surface. After the surface treatment, surfaces must be handled with care for a few weeks as the product achieves its final hardness and
durability after about one month under normal conditions. If a surface needs to be cleaned soon after the surface treatment, preferably dry-clean it by using a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or dust cloth.
