Tikkurila Muuri Paint for Fireplaces and Stoves

Inorganic silicate paint with excellent heat resistance.

PRODUCT FEATURES

For indoor surfaces such as concrete, lime, lime-cement, cement plaster, sand-lime brick and brick surfaces, as well as mineral board surfaces. Also suitable for surfaces previously painted with lime, lime-cement, cement and silicate paints. See instructions for use.

RECOMMENDED USE

For interior surfaces of furnace walls, fireplaces and similar surfaces where there may be elevated surface temperatures.

• Base colors: MSA BASE
• Shades: Color cards: Paint for fireplaces and firewalls. White. G497, H497, M497, V459, X459, Y462, X487, Y487.
• Sheen: Completely matte. 6/RT - classification
• Consumption: 3-5 m²/l in one coat. Consumption depends on surface roughness and porosity, as well as application method and conditions.
• Application method: Painting brush or brush for painting with lime paint.
• Drying time: Can be recoated after 12 hours.
• Density (kg/l): Approx. 1.4 kg/l, ISO 2811
• Water vapor resistance (EN ISO 7783): sd,H2O < 0.14 m.
• Heat resistance: Tinted product withstands 180°C when dry, while untinted product withstands 300°C.
• Storage: Protect from frost and direct sunlight. Open container must be tightly closed. Tinted product or partially filled container cannot be stored for a long time. Tinted product must be used within one painting season.

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be clean, dry and stable. Surface and air temperature must be above +10°C and air relative humidity below 80%.

Surface preparation

Unpainted surfaces:
New cement and plastered surfaces must be sufficiently dry and hardened before painting.
Clean unpainted surfaces from dirt, dust and other contaminants.

Previously painted surfaces:
Clean surfaces from dirt, dust and other contaminants. If necessary, wash the surface with Seinäpesu cleaning agent, following the instructions. Remove loose, poorly adhering or powdery paint layers.

Surface repair

Level cracks, holes and cavities so that they are flush with the painted surface. Use a suitable dry filler putty for concrete surfaces and lime or lime-cement plaster for plastered surfaces. If necessary, repaint the leveled areas with Muurikrāsa.

Painting

Prime with one coat of Muuri paint. If necessary, the product can be diluted with water up to 10%. 12 hours after priming, apply the next coat of Muurikārta.

CAUTION!
Cover surfaces that will not be painted, such as windows, natural stone, clinker tile surfaces and metal surfaces. Immediately clean paint splatters with water.
Variable porosity, moisture and temperature fluctuations of the surface during painting and drying may result in uneven tone. To meet the set heat resistance requirements, it is recommended to wait at least 2 weeks before using the surfaces. Mechanical impact may leave visible damage on the painted surface. This is a characteristic of matte products, but it does not affect the functionality of the product.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water. To clean easily hardened paint, it is recommended to use Tikkurila Pensselipesu tool cleaning agent.

Surface maintenance

If necessary, clean the surface with a dry brush or dust mop no earlier than one month after applying the product.
