Tikkurila Unica Enamel alkyd paint for wood and metal, semi-gloss

APPLICATION

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry, air temperature at least +5ºC and air relative humidity below 80%.

Preparation

Unpainted surfaces: Remove dirt, dust, grease, and oil from the surfaces. Brush off white rust from galvanized surfaces. Clean plastic surfaces with a solvent, such as Solvent 1029 or other denatured ethanol. Sand the surface and remove dust. Due to the different properties of plastics, the solvent's effect and paint adhesion should be tested before painting the entire surface. Prime wood surfaces with Jehu or Otex. Prime metal surfaces with Rostex Super anti-corrosion primer paint. Make aluminum surfaces rough before priming. Previously painted surfaces: Wash with Maalipesu cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly with water. Scrape off loose paint and sand the entire surface. Remove dust. Fill in dents and cracks with Lakkakitti. Sand the filled areas and remove dust. Worn wood surfaces should be primed with Jehu or Otex, while metal surfaces should be primed with Rostex Super anti-corrosion primer paint.

Painting

Thoroughly mix the paint and, if necessary, thin it. When painting with a brush, use Thinner 1050 for thinning. When painting with a spray gun, use a suitable solvent, such as Solvent 1032. Apply one or two coats with a brush, roller, or spray gun.

Cleaning of tools

Clean the tools immediately after use with Thinner 1050 or Pensselipesu tool cleaning agent.
