The Knauf Aquapanel® Cement Board Floor panel is designed for the construction of any type of indoor floor with a high level of moisture, such as swimming pools, public showers, and industrial spaces. It is an easily installable building material (with innovative tongue and groove assembly) that can be used as an alternative to solid floor construction. The cement board is 100% waterproof, non-combustible (A1), impact-resistant, resistant to mold growth, and improves sound and thermal insulation.

What is it? An ideal thin base for tiles on wooden floors. AQUAPANEL® cement floor tile base panels are made of Portland cement and covered with a fiberglass mesh on both sides. The cut edges are rectangular, and both long edges are reinforced with mesh overlay for additional strength (EasyEdge®). The panels are 100% waterproof and resistant to mold. The best solution for very low (thin) floors, with a thickness of only 6 mm. Suitable for all types of tiles, including ceramic, mosaic, and natural stone tiles. Very lightweight material. Where is it used? AQUAPANEL® cement floor panel is a lightweight, highly stable, dry cement floor panel that provides an ideal thin base for all types of tiles on wooden subfloors. It is particularly suitable for use with very low floor heights, as it is only 6 mm thick. The panel can be used as a tile support on wooden subfloors for ceramic or natural stone tiles.

How is it used? It is recommended to cut with an electric jigsaw (with carbide teeth). When cutting the panel, ensure the removal of cement dust. It can also be cut with a knife and snapped. The panels are laid on primed wooden floors, then an elastic tile adhesive is applied, and then secured with Aquapanel Maxi SN 25 screws to the wooden floor (9 screws per panel). When installing the panels, there should be 3 mm to 5 mm gaps between them. The joints are filled with elastic tile adhesive and reinforced with Aquapanel joint tape.
